Whether you have a lot of time or just a little, there’s a place for you in the Sonia Sotomayor Elementary PTA community! Our volunteers are the heart of everything we do—and there are so many ways to make a difference.
From helping at events and distributing flyers to joining a committee or organizing a fundraiser, every contribution matters. You can volunteer during the school day, in the evenings, or even from home—whatever works for your schedule.
statement of commitment
As a volunteer with the Sonia Sotomayor PTA, I commit to supporting our students, families, and staff with respect, reliability, and a spirit of service.
I agree to:

Sign in and out at the front office and wear a visitor badge at all times while on campus

Follow all school rules and district policies

Honor my scheduled volunteer commitments and fulfill assigned responsibilities

Keep all school and student information confidential

Communicate in advance if I am unable to attend a scheduled shift

Make every effort to find a substitute when possible, and notify the Event Chair and Executive Board promptly
By volunteering, I recognize the important role I play in our school community and commit to showing up with care, consistency, and collaboration.
